Prenatal Care

With the same schedule as you would have for appointments with an OBGYN, we meet in the clinic to assess your health, discuss any questions and prepare for upcoming changes. I allow an hour for each of these visits so we have time to make personal connections. We listen to your baby with a doppler or fetoscope, measure your growing belly and assess your vital signs.

Labor & Birth

I deliver at your home or at the Mount Vernon Birth Center. This service includes care at the beginning of labor, administering IV antibiotics for Group B Strep if needed, exams and assessments on how your baby is tolerating labor. I have portable birth pools that can be used if desired. I never attend a birth alone, so one of my trusty midwife colleagues will also be at your birth as my assistant. After the baby comes I will do a vaginal repair if needed and do a thorough newborn exam before discharge.

Newborn Care

Babies need care too! I will be your baby’s primary healthcare provider until 2 weeks. After that your baby can see a practitioner of your choice. In those first 2 weeks we do weight checks, metabolic screening, hearing tests and whatever else might come up.
Routine visits occur at 24-48 hours after the baby comes, at 2 weeks and around 6 weeks. Of course there is flexibility and I am on call for you until 6 weeks postpartum. At these visits I assess your healing, help with breastfeeding and can perform pap smears and blood tests as needed.

Postpartum Care

Intrauterine Insemination is a service that enables a family to conceive when the traditional method hasn’t or can’t work. People who benefit from IUI may have fertility issues, be in same-sex relationships or are choosing to parent alone. This service should be available in 2026.
